Maria and Rick Riddle launched their Petpals operation in May 2006 and operate the business from Witham, covering the surrounding areas including: Black Notley, Bocking, Braintree, Coggeshall, Cressing, Earls Colne, Faulkborne, Great Braxted, Great Leighs, Great Notley, Great Totham, Hatfield Peverel, Kelvedon, Little Braxted, Little Totham, Marks Tey, Rivenhall, Silver End, Terling, Tiptree, White Notley and Wickham Bishops.
Maria and Rick both decided to change their careers doing something that they are passionate about – which is of course animals!
They are very much looking forward to meeting new friends (pets and humans!) and hope that their love of all animals combined with determination to offer a first class service will bring them happiness and success. “We want to provide a service that we would be happy with for our own pets” says Maria.
They have 4 dogs of their own, a yellow lab called Sam, a chocolate lab (they are mad!) called Bailey and two retired greyhounds called Midge and Honey.
Having had greyhounds for a number of years as part of their family, they are keen supporters of homing retired greyhounds and work closely with their local greyhound rescue kennels, Clarks Farm in Little Totham, Essex (For more details visit: www.clarksfarmgreyhounds.org.uk).
At Petpals we are fully trained, insured. Our pet sitting services are flexible and can be tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Our pet sitting and pet boarding services include, dog sitting, dog walking, dog boarding, home visits for cats and small pets, puppy care, elderly dog care, home visits for dogs, home sitting, cat sitting and a pet taxi and pet to vet service.
Making use of the many areas found locally, our dog walking aims to give your dog a stimulating and enjoyable walk in a safe environment. These can be individual visits for your dog(s) and or multi walks, with up to four dogs at a time transported in our purpose fitted vehicles.
Our puppy and elderly pet care service offers you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at home. During the visit we walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of TLC.
We offer a pet boarding and pet care experience where your dog can stay in the home of one of our carefully selected, dedicated carers. You will be given the opportunity to meet the pet boarding carer before you go away and to see where your pet will be staying. When your dog stays with a Petpals approved family they are treated as one of the family with all the usual sights, sounds and smells of family life, but best of all they will receive all the love, cuddles and attention they deserve!
Petpals have proven to be very popular with clients that want to leave their cats at home in there own environment, with familiar comforts and smells, particularly with elderly cats and cats that need medication. Our cat sitting service allows clients to go away safe in the knowledge that Petpals are visiting their cats to feed, clean litter trays if required, play, along with lots of TLC.
Our home based pet sitting service is a real alternative to kennels, your pets can remain in their own familiar surroundings, with their own routines and food while you are away.
Petpals also have varied experience in caring for small pets and exotics and are happy to provide home visits for these types of pets too.
Petpals are equipped with pet friendly vehicles fitted with specially designed safety cages of various sizes with a vet bed on top of removable rubber matting for hygiene. We can transport everything from small pets and cats to giant dog breeds. We can also help with trips to the vets.
