The Day Begins at Petpals Hendon and Hampstead
Our day starts early morning, as the majority of our activities revolve around home visits to cats and small pets. We like to complete those visits early before any parking restrictions commence. Parking and travelling in London can be challenging, to say the least, so this enables us to travel quicker and saves the clients having to cover any parking costs.
Cats and small animals
Cats make up the majority of our visits but we do also care for Rabbits (house and outdoor), Chickens, Geckos etc. We now have a large client base of cat and small pet customers, with bookings throughout the year and extra busy times during the bank holidays and especially Christmas/New Year. For various reasons, we have chosen to focus on this service within our business and have built up a reputation for quality care, reliability and adaptability.
Doggy Day Care in Hampstead and Hendon
We then need to collect our “Doggy Day Care” dogs for that day. Again, we collect early, as most of our clients leave early for work. We sometimes have keys but prefer to collect from the clients directly, which is the service preferred by most of them.
We have known nearly all our dogs since they were puppies and they all know each other, so it makes for a friendly and playful environment. The clients also choose us for all their boarding needs, so we keep numbers controlled to ensure we can provide a premier and flexible service. Many of our owners know each other and we receive constant referrals.
Walkies Number 1
I take the day care and any boarding dogs to the park for a walk. We will be out for about an hour, everyone having a jolly good run about and playing with each other.
Then it’s time for a coffee and a chat. This is followed by various admin tasks on the computer such as responding to email bookings and enquiries and completing tasks related to the financial side of the business.
Walkies number 2
As it is now midday, one of us will take the day care dogs to the park for some fun. The other members of our team leave to complete any more dog walks booked in for that day. We offer a bespoke dog walking service for periods of 40 minutes each. Most walks are individual but we can be flexible.
Going Home Time
Late afternoon, we start dropping home all the day care dogs, at various times, to fit in with the clients’ needs. We finish the day with our evening cat/small pet visit schedule. We also complete any new client assessments in the evenings where possible.
Work Life Balance for a Petpals franchise Owner
Our business allows us great flexibility in our daily lives and with early planning we enjoy holidays during the year. We are free to plan the direction of our business which means we can choose the services we prefer to provide, the hours we work and the level of income we generate. Best of all, we have a multitude of animal friends that we love and who love us in return.
