Petpals have been leading the way with our Home Boarding service for over 15 years providing a real ‘home from home’ experience for our customers dogs while they are away or on holiday.
But the real ‘stars’ of the show are the wonderful ‘host families’ who provide those magical ingredients that all of our customers love and return time after time after time.
Our host families supply the environment for our customers much loved pooches to thrive when they are away – comfort, security, routine and lots and lots of loving all wrapped up in a premier service providing them with total peace of mind so that they can relax and enjoy their holiday or time away.
Petpals are looking for new ‘host families’ to join in the fun – is this you?
Petpals take the recruitment of ‘host families’ families very seriously and we are proud members of the Pet Care Franchise Association (PCFA) who ensure exceptional welfare standards are delivered by its members.
All Petpals franchisees who provide home boarding are licenced with their local authority. It is illegal to board dogs as a business without an Animal Activities Licence.
As a Petpals ‘host family’ you need to be a genuine dog lover, committed to providing a boarding dog with a real and genuine ‘home from home’ experience whilst their owners are away.
Host Family Requirements
To apply you must have experience of owning or looking after a dog.
You must have a safe home and secure garden.
Be prepared to meet and greet our customers and their dogs when they stay with you.
If you have your own dogs, they must be fully socialised and vaccinated.
You must also be capable of walking the dog for a minimum of 20 minutes twice a day.
You need to be a genuine dog lover, committed to providing a boarding dog with a real and genuine ‘home from home’ experience whilst their owners are away.
Please note: There are no minimum targets in respect of our ‘host families’ as they only accept carefully matched dogs to their own environment when they want to look after one. This means it’s ideal for those ‘host families’ who only want to look after dogs on a weekend, school holidays or ad-hoc basis.
Training & Support
Looking after somebody’s else’s dog is a serious responsibility and is a licensed activity by a local authority – so there are things you must know and do, but you have the comfort and reassurance that Petpals look after their ‘host families’ every step of the way.
You are provided with training and all the support necessary to ensure you can deliver an outstanding level of service.
We will visit you at your home and go through what happens and explain how we will support you as you look forward to your first house guest and making those memories.
