Fur-ever after: Our Biggest Wedding Chaperone Summer Yet!

Summer 2025 has truly been one for the memory books at Petpals Darlington, and not just for the sunshine! It’s been our biggest summer ever for Wedding Chaperone bookings and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have played a part in so many special days.

For those who don’t know, our Wedding Chaperone service is designed to make sure your four-legged family member doesn’t miss out on your big day. From arriving in style with their best bow tie or flower collar, to walking down the aisle, starring in photos, and getting plenty of fuss (and treats!), we’re there to ensure everything goes smoothly while you enjoy your celebration stress-free.

This summer we’ve had dogs acting as ring bearers, guest greeters, and even stealing the show on the dance floor (paws down, the best moves of the night!). Every wedding has been unique, and it’s been such a joy to see how couples make their pups part of the festivities.

We love seeing the look on guests’ faces when the dog trots down the aisle, or when the photographer captures that perfect family shot – it’s the stuff memories are made of. And for the dogs? They get to be right where they belong, by your side on the most important day of your life.

Recent newlyweds Ryan and Fran booked our home boarding services for their dog Pablo and Fran’s mum’s dog Wilf for the duration of the celebrations and Pablo was chaperoned to the wedding ceremony by our Home Boarding Manager Sandra.

Ryan and Fran said of their experience:

I cannot thank Sandra enough who looked after our dog Pablo and Wilf over the weekend while we got married. Sandra provided us with updates and photos to show the boys happy as larry on their walks and cuddled up in her house. Pablo was drove to and from our wedding venue and arrived right on time in his waistcoat for our ceremony. Both the boys had the best time and I would hugely recommend anyone using Sandra.
